The REST of Canada.

Here are the wonderful signs welcoming us to CANADA!!!

This was our BIG wildlife sighting there. It was the first day which got or hopes up and then there was no more other then dear the rest of the trip.

This was Lake Morane in Alberta, Canada. It was stunningly green and the water was such a cool color. It was a blue-green color because of the limestone in the water. All of the lakes of there are from glacier melt-off. Talk about COLD!!! This day we it was about 47 degrees.

Our next stop was Takkakaw Falls. These falls were incredible. It just appeared as you came around the bend. After a short walk we were at the bottom of this breathtaking creation. It is all direct melt-off of a glacier.

The last stop of the day was to Emerald Lake. This is where the one and only picture of all of us was taken together.
This place was so quaint. It was like looking at postcards or calendar pictures.

There was a fun log house built on the sky resort. We rode the chair lift up and then hiked a short ways down to it. The girls had a blast and could have stayed there all day.

What is a vacation without a trip to the beach? BORING!!!

The highlight of our trip was THIS....

We got to take an hour flight in a seater prop plane. Talk about a freaky rush!! The girls thought it was graet at first. Then we hit a thermal pocket and the plane dropped a substanial amount very quickly which made all of our stomachs come into our throats. Pinto proceeded to cry the rest of the flight and Lima kept asking if we could land the plane. Through all the anxiety the view was GORGEOUS!!! There were glaciers and lakes and waterfalls that had never been touched by people. It was amazing.

After we landed they thought it was pretty cool!

Overall, we had a wonderful time!! We could have stayed for another week. THANKS GRANDPA for the wonderful trip and memories!!

Because Life is Insane I Wanted to Share Something Simple....

Beauty Tips
by Audry Hepburn

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.

For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone.

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.

As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.

The Beginnings of Our Summer Trip to Canada...

We had the chance thanks to my fabulous grandpa to go to Canada for about one week. We left on Saturday August 1st and drove to Missoula, MT. The girls did great for the most part with all of our driving. There only request was movies and food and food and more food.

Our hotel in Montana had waterslides. So of course we had to get in as much pool time as possible!!

I think we did out job wearing them out.

Pinto asked why we rode in the library (elevator). Huh?

In total we drove for a little over 16 hours in two days. It was not too bad!!!

The 24th...

For all who do not live here, the 24th of July is a holiday!!! WOOHOOO!!!!! We went camping with my family up Big Cottonwood Canyon. We had a great time. We rode the tram up to the top of Solitude and hiked to Solitude Lake.

What kid doesn't LOVE a gooey marshmallow?

You can't go camping and not get dirty either!!! It just wouldn't be as fun.

On Saturday after the 24th my parents neighborhood has a big show of fireworks!! It was good times.

This last one is so cool. They lined up several adults down the street and they all held Roman Candles.

I look forward to more festivities next year!!

July in Picture Form with a few words...

July was one busy month for us. With two holidays and camping in there we have been coming and going quite a bit!!! We also had the chance to meet up with a long lost friend who was in town visiting. LOVE YOU CARRIE!!!

For the fourth we went to a parade in upper Sandy and then the usual Sandy parade and fireworks. We had a good time!!! We also wer do sitting at the same time. This will be the only chance my kids will have of having a dog. Sorry people out there, I am not a fan of poop in my yard!! (but this puppy was a cutey!)

This girl makes a friend EVERYWHERE she goes!!!

So much to think about.

Wow what a roller coaster of emotion and feelings the past few weeks. I have started my new job as a REAL nurse. I is hard to think that I am doing real nurse stuff. My biggest challenge was my first day working on the floor. It was surreal, survival, and exhaustion all mixed together.

My first day was supposed to be a follow my orienting nurse around a get the hang of how and where things are. Well that is so not what happened. It took a turn for the worse, the terrible worse. My patients who I cannot say much about they were younger then 40 coded. For all who don't know what that means, it means stopped breathing, heart rate at nothing.....pretty much dead. Yeah new nurse, knows no-one and is now doing CPR on this individual. Talk about one heck of an adrenaline rush. Then the little kids walked in and the emotion all changed. I traded out at then end of my turn and grabbed the one child. We sat and cried and cried together. All I could think of was my own little girls at home being in this situation.

It was very hard to deal with the kids involved, it made it too personal. I cried many tears and reflected on the fragility of life. Having my patient pass away on the first day was not what I expected for a day of orientation.

I again was sucked back to reality and the ultimate appreciation for my husband and monkey babies. It reminded me that Heavenly Father truly is in charge of our existence here and when our time is done.

The rest of the week brought much chaos yet peace and the ability to cry about life and learn from it, then move on!! I LOVE my life, I love my family, I am even grateful for the yucky times. It makes each of us who we are!!!

My dedication...

This is dedicated to my Kelsie!!! You are one AWESOME person. You will rock it at school and you can achieve ANYTHING that you set your heart out too. I love you and I am SO glad that we got to spend time at camp together!!!

Your energy and enthusiasm are contagious to EVERYONE around you. You were talked about often in the stake amongst the YCL's. They were very excited to see you when you would come over and we were all very excited to come and give you your "present" with nasty pirate teeth. AND who else would have helped me do the Princess Pat?

You are loved and looked up to by more people then you will ever realize. Keep that light of Christ with you at all times. Keep climbing your mountains!! You are SPECIAL!!
