A kid free getaway!!!

We had the wonderful invitation to get away with some GREAT friends to Park City for a weekend in September. Talk about some SERIOUS fun. Days full of shopping, pedicures, games, zip lines, and so much more. We look forward to going next year and enjoying the great company and memories.

What a HOT looking trophy couple me make!!!

A much needed post!!!

How busy life has been. It seems like there are weeks that go by and I can't remember what went on.

SO...to rewind and do some catch up, my baby turned a BIG 3 years old in September. She was a monster of a baby but has turned into one big giant ham of a QT. Not a day hardly goes by when she does not end up in some sort of dress-up clothes. She LOVES her GG (a giraffe blankie that she carries EVERYWHERE) and she loves cereal. She also loves playing with her princess dolls or anything that you can pretend to make talk. She has decided that she hated bread (but eats it when you just give it to her without saying anything), she loves to snuggle, and I enjoy our nap times together on the days that I have to work that night. She is just starting to really roll play with her big sister and when they are not fighting :) they have quite a fun time together.

On the morning of birthdays, the birthday fairy brings donuts and leaves them on the porch for breakfast.

For her cake this year she was very insistent that she wanted a purple snake cake with pink insides and purple polka dots. She was also adamant that she wanted to eat it one top of the house...but I had to say no to that one.

She had only a few simple requests for her birthday. A car -man do they start young with that one!, make-up, Tinkerbell, and Ariel. Happily for her between family and us she was able to get all her birthday wishes granted.
.

I LOVE my little Pinto bean. Through the tantrums (3 is SO much worse then 2!!) and the "hold you"'s she is a keeper. She brings silly giggles and lots of love to our home!!

The REST of Canada.

Here are the wonderful signs welcoming us to CANADA!!!

This was our BIG wildlife sighting there. It was the first day which got or hopes up and then there was no more other then dear the rest of the trip.

This was Lake Morane in Alberta, Canada. It was stunningly green and the water was such a cool color. It was a blue-green color because of the limestone in the water. All of the lakes of there are from glacier melt-off. Talk about COLD!!! This day we it was about 47 degrees.

Our next stop was Takkakaw Falls. These falls were incredible. It just appeared as you came around the bend. After a short walk we were at the bottom of this breathtaking creation. It is all direct melt-off of a glacier.

The last stop of the day was to Emerald Lake. This is where the one and only picture of all of us was taken together.
This place was so quaint. It was like looking at postcards or calendar pictures.

There was a fun log house built on the sky resort. We rode the chair lift up and then hiked a short ways down to it. The girls had a blast and could have stayed there all day.

What is a vacation without a trip to the beach? BORING!!!

The highlight of our trip was THIS....

We got to take an hour flight in a seater prop plane. Talk about a freaky rush!! The girls thought it was graet at first. Then we hit a thermal pocket and the plane dropped a substanial amount very quickly which made all of our stomachs come into our throats. Pinto proceeded to cry the rest of the flight and Lima kept asking if we could land the plane. Through all the anxiety the view was GORGEOUS!!! There were glaciers and lakes and waterfalls that had never been touched by people. It was amazing.

After we landed they thought it was pretty cool!

Overall, we had a wonderful time!! We could have stayed for another week. THANKS GRANDPA for the wonderful trip and memories!!

Because Life is Insane I Wanted to Share Something Simple....

Beauty Tips
by Audry Hepburn

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.

For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone.

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.

As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.

The Beginnings of Our Summer Trip to Canada...

We had the chance thanks to my fabulous grandpa to go to Canada for about one week. We left on Saturday August 1st and drove to Missoula, MT. The girls did great for the most part with all of our driving. There only request was movies and food and food and more food.

Our hotel in Montana had waterslides. So of course we had to get in as much pool time as possible!!

I think we did out job wearing them out.

Pinto asked why we rode in the library (elevator). Huh?

In total we drove for a little over 16 hours in two days. It was not too bad!!!

The 24th...

For all who do not live here, the 24th of July is a holiday!!! WOOHOOO!!!!! We went camping with my family up Big Cottonwood Canyon. We had a great time. We rode the tram up to the top of Solitude and hiked to Solitude Lake.

What kid doesn't LOVE a gooey marshmallow?

You can't go camping and not get dirty either!!! It just wouldn't be as fun.

On Saturday after the 24th my parents neighborhood has a big show of fireworks!! It was good times.

This last one is so cool. They lined up several adults down the street and they all held Roman Candles.

I look forward to more festivities next year!!

July in Picture Form with a few words...

July was one busy month for us. With two holidays and camping in there we have been coming and going quite a bit!!! We also had the chance to meet up with a long lost friend who was in town visiting. LOVE YOU CARRIE!!!

For the fourth we went to a parade in upper Sandy and then the usual Sandy parade and fireworks. We had a good time!!! We also wer do sitting at the same time. This will be the only chance my kids will have of having a dog. Sorry people out there, I am not a fan of poop in my yard!! (but this puppy was a cutey!)

This girl makes a friend EVERYWHERE she goes!!!
