OH MY GOOD GOO!! Today my life just flashed before my eyes. I was innocently minding my business outside washing off the girls play center and I happened to look down at my feet, when I met my fate. There it was 20 feet long, sharp 5 inch long teeth, and beady red eyes with a look in them that a beat would have before it devoured it's meal. I could tell it was ready to strike at any second as it was licking it's nasty lips. And then......I screamed the loudest most panicked scream I have let out in a long time. I kept screaming and ran for my life trying to fend for myself, as big bean causally wondered from the front yard to see what was going on. My heart was racing so hard I thought I was going to die, I was on the brink of tears, I broke out in a sweat(literally, not kidding), and my whole body was just shuddering. It was one of my biggest fears, as it stared my down ready to devour me.
Know I hope you all feel just so bad for me. This viscous creature that turned out to be a foot and a half to two feet snake. The most nasty creature out there, right along with spiders. YUCK!!!! I hope I screamed so loud that the thing will never want to come near here again(shudder). If I didn't make myself clear, I hate snakes. Despise them, swear them off, and my heart skips a beat just to think about the trauma that I have faced.
I hope that no one ever has to face the frightening moment that I did today. YUCKY, YUCKY, AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I thought it would have to be a rattler to give that big of a reaction. But it was just a little garden snake wasn't it? Come on wasn't it just a little bit cute?
One time we caught a california king snake and kept it for a pet when I was a kid. What do you think about catching it and letting the kids feed it mice?
Okay so I am really hoping to get you screaming again. Did it work?
YOU ARE MEAN!!! I am now going to have nightmares about snakes...hahaha. I was a garden snake, but that is how bad I hate them. My sister was bit by one of those stupid things when we were kids, and that did it for me FOREVER!!!
Scary! Good thing your kids weren't aren't there, or were they?
Guess what! I saw a real life rattle snake in the parking lot where we parked to go hiking. Are you impressed? Or scared? Anyways my dog tried to see if it would strike her but it didn't. It just crawled around as if on the prowl looking for little children to eat....
What, no picture of the snake? C'mon, Mama Bean, I mean I can see it from your description but I'd like to see a picture of the basilisk in your yard! hehhee
ha,ha, oh man I'm so sorry about that "incident" for you, but I wish I could have been there to see your reaction it sounds classic!! I used to catch those guys in our back yard all the time growing up ( I lived with a huge field for our playground and with brothers...it was bug, snake and mice catching and exploring daily!). Kenna just last night was running in our lawn yelling "snake, snake, mommy there's a snake!!" you two would get along great together! =0)
